Reflection & Practice
The Centre for Practical Knowledge, at the School of Professional Studies, Bodø University College Norway, in association with the Norwegian Centre for Art and Culture in Education is proud to announce an International conference on the theme of "Reflection and Practice", to be held at Bodø University College, Norway, on the 6th to the 7th September, 2008.

The conference will broadly address the contention that first-person reflection, using the resources of the humanities, can contribute greatly to the understanding of and performance in fields of professional employment.

The invited speakers' backgrounds include Phenomenological Philosophy & Sociology, Education theory, Cognitive science and Arts education. Each of the invited guests is concerned with the role of reflection upon experience and its constitutive role in the understanding and improvement of professional practice. Furthermore, the notion of reflective experience is expanded and deepened through the resources of these various disciplines.

For whom:
The themes discussed at the conference will engage those interested in the development of Practical Knowledge and the relationship between theory and practice. Furthermore, the conference themes will be relevant for practitioners in Health care, Journalism, Education, Law and Police work.
